Self-Love

At Inspire Action for Social Change, we are dedicated to creating a culture of care and love in all areas of our lives. To do that, we have to start with ourselves. That can be hard sometimes, especially when all of us are natural givers and want to do more and more for families impacted by violence and strengthen our community response during these tough and exhausting times.

Self-care is important and sustains us for those hard moments, but what about creating real sustainability, change, and love around us? Practicing self-love means first recognizing and accepting our inner beings. Unfortunately, in our world today, it can be extra hard to find self-love as we navigate the global pandemic and the demands of our personal and professional lives.

So, how do we create the space to take a moment to connect with our inner selves? We ask that you take the time to create little "gaps" throughout our day. These moments can look like five deep breaths, a quick walk around the block, saying something kind to someone near you, or looking at yourself in the mirror and appreciating who you are. These gaps create actions of self-love and help us connect to and uplift our humanity. The more we can connect with our present thoughts in each hour, the more we can all act in our truth. What greater form of love and respect can we give ourselves than that?

Connect with your inner self.
